As an artist based in Southport, Merseyside, I create abstract expressionistic paintings inspired by natural landscapes and the emotions these environments evoke.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art in 2016, I decided to escape the rush of city life to return to my coastal home environment in which I has always been inspired.

My practice explores the continuity between subjectivity, language, experience, and expression. My work is based on the personal experience of being within open natural spaces; exploring the relationship between self and world. Within my work, I explore the use of materials and gestural marks in order to express these fluid, free-floating, non-linear experiences as a visual language; a silent and wordless form of poetry.

I explore the expression of emotion and the transition of unconscious feelings becoming conscious. Visual elements, such as colours, shapes and textures express these powerful moments and add a lightweight, ephemeral and transient feeling to my work.

I escape to expansive natural environments in order to gain inspiration both visually and emotionally. My latest adventure being a road trip around the beautiful coast of Ireland; from which I was inspired to capture the beauty and energy within my latest work.
